Since 2009, Yuhan-Kimberly has been running the Newlywed School together with Seoul YWCA for 13 years. This Newlywed School will start on July 3rd. A total of 150 couples will be recruited, and applications can be submitted on the Seoul YWCA website until the 20th. Selected participants will receive commemorative T-shirts and Yuhan-Kimberly eco-friendly products. Participation is free of charge.
Theoretical part instructor Professor Jeong Jaeseung of KAIST will present the topic “Reflecting on Couple Communication through Neuroscience,” explaining the spouse’s emotions and behaviors from a neuroscience perspective. Additionally, Dr. Choi Seongae of the HD Happiness Research Institute will discuss “Our Couple’s Attitude Toward Handling Conflict,” emphasizing the importance of respect and careful consideration between spouses. The practical part following the theoretical session will be held in September in the second half of the year.
A Yuhan-Kimberly representative stated, “Improving the world’s lowest birthrate does not start with systems but begins with recognizing differences between men and women and communicating through consideration,” adding, “We will strive to provide newlyweds with opportunities and methods for communication and ensure they are practiced so that a happy couple communication culture can spread.”

Meanwhile, the Newlywed School is conducting the ‘Sseudam Walking Online Challenge’ to raise awareness of the climate crisis. ‘Sseudam’ refers to the act of picking up trash while jogging. Couples who complete 60,000 steps of Sseudam walking together and post certification photos will have trees planted in their names on a first-come, first-served basis for 500 couples. These trees will be planted and nurtured in Korea’s first carbon-neutral forest (Yongin Seokpo Forest), created by Yuhan-Kimberly, the Korea Forest Service, and the Life Forest organization.
