Consultation for Business Plan Review and Marketing Strategy Development, Apply on Seoul Startup Cafe Sangbong Branch Website
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Near Sangbong Station in Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi), there is the ‘Seoul Startup Cafe Sangbong Branch’ for those dreaming of starting a business.
Since March, the cafe has been conducting ‘Basic Startup Mentoring’ for prospective entrepreneurs, resulting in a total of 9 teams being selected for various government support programs, taking their first steps toward entrepreneurship.
‘Basic Startup Mentoring’ is a counseling program that provides customized strategies for prospective entrepreneurs, from setting the direction of their startup to solving problems.
Participants can receive various types of assistance needed in the early stages of a startup, such as business feasibility verification, business plan review, marketing strategy development, and government funding. If specialized consultations in areas like taxation, law, or patent applications are required, connections to the Seoul Business Support Center are also provided.
The government support programs for which the 9 teams were selected include ▲the ‘Pre-Startup Package’ program hosted by the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (5 teams) ▲the ‘2021 Eco Startup Support Program’ hosted by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (1 team) ▲the ‘Tourism Venture Business Contest’ hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization (1 team) ▲the Non-face-to-face Startup Promotion Project (1 team) ▲and the Practical Startup Education Phase 2 (1 team). The selected teams will receive support such as commercialization funds, education and mentoring, and consulting, and plan to use this support as a stepping stone to advance to full-scale commercialization.
Prospective entrepreneurs who want help in the early stages of their startup can apply for mentoring through the Seoul Startup Cafe Sangbong Branch website.
Applications are accepted at the beginning of each month, and mentoring candidates are selected based on startup suitability and the progress of commercialization.
Mentoring sessions last one hour per individual (or team) and are completely free of charge.
Opened last year, the Seoul Startup Cafe Sangbong Branch (Director Kim Jung-yeon) is the only Seoul Startup Cafe in the northeastern region of Seoul, providing the latest startup information and supporting mentoring and space rental, attracting many prospective entrepreneurs. In the second half of this year, it will operate special lectures and mentoring in the region’s specialized industries such as fashion and sewing, youth entrepreneurship education, and product photography technique training.
The Startup Cafe’s operating hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Program schedules and reservations can be made through the Seoul Startup Cafe Sangbong Branch website or by phone.
