[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Design Foundation announced on the 15th that it will regularly hold the DDP Forum in collaboration with top domestic and international design experts every month starting from the 24th.
The first topic of the newly launched DDP Forum is "Picture Books, Letters, and Design." The forum will feature Mariqute, a master of "Pontigram," a method of drawing pictures with the alphabet, and Baek Heena, who won the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, the Nobel Prize of children's literature, last year. They will appear as speakers along with designer Lee Gi-seop.
The forum, held at CREA on the 2nd floor of DDP Sallimteo, will operate by advance reservation while adhering to quarantine rules such as social distancing. Citizens who wish to participate can apply through the DDP website.
Park Jin-bae, head of DDP Operations at the Seoul Design Foundation, explained, "We will develop the forum into a platform that spreads DDP's design identity and continuously plan programs that suggest directions for the design industry."
The illustration exhibition "Mariqute Alphabet Exploration," by Pontigram master Mariqute, can be seen at "DDP D-Sup" until the 4th of next month. D-Sup is an open space at DDP where any citizen can comfortably experience design.
Additionally, at D-Sup, an eco-friendly design children's experience class at DDP will be held every weekend until the 4th of next month. The experience class utilizes various programs from companies residing in the Seoul Upcycling Plaza, allowing children visiting DDP to experience the sustainable resource circulation process.
