Dead Body Found Floating in Reservoir Identified as Local Resident in His 50s... "All Possibilities Under Investigation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] The male body found in a reservoir in Cheongyang, Chungnam, with a steel wire wrapped around his waist, has been identified as Mr. A, a man in his 50s registered in Cheongyang.
The Chungnam police announced on the 14th that they confirmed the identity by collecting fingerprints from the body.
The police have requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the cause of Mr. A's death.
It is known that no missing person report has been filed for Mr. A.
The police are reviewing CCTV footage near the reservoir where Mr. A was found.
Earlier, on the 13th, at around 11:49 a.m., a worker installing optical cables on a road near the reservoir discovered the body floating on the reservoir and reported it to the police.
At the time of discovery, the body was about 8 meters away from the water's edge, with a 0.5 cm thick steel wire wrapped around the waist. The hands and feet were not bound, and the body was clothed.
