According to the People Power Party, at 4 p.m. that day, the party leader Lee and floor leader Kim will meet at the National Assembly to exchange opinions regarding the appointment of party officials.
According to the new party rules, the chairperson of the Policy Committee is elected by the party leader selecting one candidate after consultation with the floor leader, followed by approval at a party members' meeting. It is known that three-term lawmaker Kim Do-eup, two-term lawmaker Seong Il-jong, and first-term lawmaker Yoo Kyung-jun are among the candidates for the Policy Committee chairperson.
For the position of Secretary-General, lawmakers Kwon Seong-dong and Park Jin are being considered. Both share the commonality of being four-term senior lawmakers.
Yoon Hee-sook, a lawmaker with a background at the Korea Development Institute (KDI), is reportedly a strong candidate for the head of the party’s think tank, the Yeouido Research Institute.
Additionally, for the appointed Supreme Council member, Professor Lee Soo-jung of the Department of Criminal Psychology at Kyonggi University is being mentioned. Names such as former lawmakers Min Hyun-joo and Shin Bo-ra, and former Game Management Committee Chairperson Yeo Myung-sook are also being discussed. After his election, Lee stated in a press conference that he would appoint an "outside female expert" as an appointed Supreme Council member.
Meanwhile, as his first party appointments, Lee designated Hwang Bo-seung-hee as chief spokesperson and Seo Beom-su as secretary-general the day before.
