The Blue House stated, "President Moon Jae-in, attending the G7 Summit, held a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the afternoon of the 12th and had extensive discussions on the G7 Summit, COVID-19 response, and the situation on the Korean Peninsula."
President Moon expressed that he considers it meaningful to have the opportunity to consult on international issues together with Germany and other G7 countries, and conveyed his intention to contribute to efforts to resolve international issues at the G7 level.
Chancellor Merkel welcomed President Moon's attendance at the G7 Summit and expressed hope for close cooperation with Korea on international issues such as health and climate change.
