View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] Lee Jun-seok, the newly appointed leader of the People Power Party, has directly refuted controversies surrounding him, such as "receiving a scholarship from the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation" and "entering Harvard with a recommendation from Yoo Seung-min."
On the 12th, Lee stated on Facebook, "Now that the party convention is over, it seems that the pro-government camp is once again spreading strange theories online."
On the same day, Lee posted a screenshot of a post saying, "What is the reality of Lee Jun-seok? They say he went to Harvard with a Roh Moo-hyun scholarship. Isn't that also a 'dad chance'? First, clarify the reality of the scholarship he received with Yoo Seung-min's recommendation."
In response, Lee emphasized, "President Roh Moo-hyun's inauguration date was February 25, 2003," and "Lee Jun-seok submitted his Harvard application in December 2002, and was accepted in March 2003."
He also explained, "The Presidential Science Scholarship was awarded in June 2003, and Yoo Seung-min was elected as a member of the National Assembly in April 2004," adding, "He graduated from Harvard in May 2007, and the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation was established in November 2009."
Lee summarized, "In short, he applied to Harvard before President Roh's inauguration, became a presidential scholar after his admission was confirmed, and a year later, Yoo Seung-min was elected as a National Assembly member," and "The Roh Moo-hyun Foundation was created after President Roh's tragic passing in 2009."
