[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Lee Jun-seok, the newly elected leader of the People Power Party and the first 'leader in their 30s' in the history of the National Assembly, has attracted attention by quoting lyrics from singer Im Jae-beom's song in his acceptance speech.
At the conclusion of his acceptance speech on the 11th, Lee said, "These rough thoughts about change that I speak of, the anxious eyes of traditional party members watching them, and the people observing this ? our challenge for change will be seen as a fierce battle like a war, and through this change, we will transform and win."
This is a reference to part of the lyrics from Im Jae-beom's 2000 song "For You," which includes the lines, "My rough thoughts and anxious eyes, and you watching them, that is probably a love like war."
However, while the original lyrics continue with "Because I am dangerous, because I love, I will leave you," Lee expressed his aspiration with "Through this change, we will transform and win."
This song is the title track of Im Jae-beom's fourth studio album, Story Of Two Years, and gained popularity after being featured in the movie Donggam. At the time of the song's release, Lee was a middle school student.
