Korea Elevator Safety Agency Opens Applications for '2021 Elevator Safety Contest' Until Next Month 14
15-Second Video and 2 Emoticon Categories... Grand Prize Awarded to 1 Person (Team) by the Minister of the Interior and Safety
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Korea Elevator Safety Agency announced on the 11th that it will hold the "2021 Elevator Safety Contest" from the 10th to July 14th to raise social awareness of the importance of elevator safety use and safety culture.
The Elevator Safety Contest is held under the theme "Safety First for Me! Consideration First for Others!" and consists of two categories: "15-second videos and emoticons."
The main content should effectively promote safety culture to the public by expressing elevator safety catchphrases and elevator safety rules. Specifically, it includes elevator consideration culture such as pressing the open button and riding while holding a pet dog, as well as escalator safety rules such as not touching the door and not applying impact to the door.
Anyone interested in elevator safety, whether individuals or groups (up to 3 people), can participate, and the contest period is until July 14th. The "15-second video" category includes live-action videos, infographics, animations, etc., within 15 to 20 seconds, and the emoticon category requires creating at least six motion-type emoticons using the agency's characters "Eli and S," including two types of elevator safety rules and four types of emotional expressions.

One grand prize winner (individual or team) in each category will receive the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award along with a prize of 1.5 million KRW; one excellence award winner (individual or team) will receive the Korea Elevator Safety Agency President's Award and a prize of 1 million KRW; and two outstanding award winners (individuals or teams) will receive the Korea Elevator Safety Agency President's Award and a prize of 500,000 KRW. Awards will be presented at the Elevator Safety Week ceremony on September 14th.
