[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeollanam-do Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 11th that it will conduct the Hwarang Training focused on military operation support, maintaining residents' livelihood stability, and sustaining government functions from the 14th to the 16th.
The Hwarang Training is a comprehensive rear-area exercise organized by the Integrated Defense Headquarters, involving all national defense elements in the region, including civilians, government, military, police, and fire services.
Although held every two years, it was postponed due to typhoon damage recovery and COVID-19, making this the first exercise in four years since 2017.
With the COVID-19 situation still ongoing, the training period has been reduced from the usual five days to three days, and the scale of participants has been cut to about half.
The plan is to focus on mastering the procedures for implementing integrated defense operations linked to wartime and peacetime and establishing an integrated defense operational posture.
