This service project was promoted to commemorate the 100th year since Yeosu Port was designated as a customs-designated port for ship trade entry on April 1, 1923, thereby functioning as a practical trading port, and to derive various execution tasks to lead the development of Yeosu Port.
The service period is six months from May to November, and in order to promote the 2023 Yeosu Port 100th Anniversary Commemoration Project created together with citizens, various opinions from citizens and civil society organizations from all walks of life will be collected and reflected in the service.
The main tasks include investigating literature related to Yeosu Port, analyzing current operational status and deriving potential, presenting a future vision, discovering differentiated commemoration project execution tasks considering Yeosu’s regional characteristics, and deriving port development plans linked with the downtown area.
To enhance the professionalism of the service, the city has completed the formation of an advisory group consisting of seven members: four experts in fields such as culture and tourism, marine civil engineering from the 100-member citizen promotion committee, external culture and tourism experts, and related public officials.
