Fueling App and Drone Delivery... GS Caltex Unveils 'Future Gas Station'
Participation in the '2021 Seoul Smart Mobility Expo'... Hackathon Program Also Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] GS Caltex is introducing the future-oriented gas station called the 'Energy Plus Hub' and is conducting a hackathon program focused on drone delivery.
GS Caltex will participate in the '2021 Seoul Smart Mobility Expo,' held for three days from the 10th to the 12th at the Culture Depot in Mapo-gu, Seoul, with the theme of future gas stations.
At this event, GS Caltex organized its exhibition into three zones: 'Brand,' 'Mobility,' and 'Lifestyle.' The Brand Zone begins with an introduction to GS Caltex's past, present, and future, explaining the Energy Plus Hub and the Energy Plus brand. The Mobility Zone showcases mobility services including electric vehicle and hydrogen vehicle charging. The Mobility Zone also features the Energy Plus mobile app, scheduled for release in September, allowing visitors to experience the 'Quick Refuel' service. The 'Quick Refuel' service enables customers to pre-register fuel type, amount, and payment method on the app, so that at the gas station, refueling orders and payments can be completed at once by simply scanning a barcode or entering a PIN.
In the final Lifestyle Zone, visitors can experience life services such as electric vehicle maintenance, micro-mobility charging, drone delivery, and Energy Plus merchandise, along with customer participation events offering various prizes.
Additionally, near the exhibition hall, GS Caltex, together with Doosan Corporation and hardware accelerator company N15, is conducting a hackathon program for university students under the theme of 'Development of Future Gas Stations and Hydrogen Drone Delivery Systems.'
Seven university teams selected through preliminary screening will compete in the hackathon finals during the Seoul Smart Mobility Expo, developing prototype ideas for future gas stations and hydrogen drone delivery systems. On the final day of the competition, two teams will be selected and awarded a total prize of 10 million KRW.
