Saneun Expands Investment in System Semiconductor Startups
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] The Korea Development Bank announced on the 9th that it will promote pooling investments to support multiple promising startups in order to foster the system semiconductor industry ecosystem.
KDB invested 10 billion KRW in Puriosa AI, a company designing AI semiconductors for servers such as data centers. It also invested a total of 5 billion KRW, including follow-up investments, in Open Edge Technology, a semiconductor intellectual property (IP) development company, and 2 billion KRW in DeepX, which designs AI semiconductors.

A KDB official stated, "Pooling investments, starting with the system semiconductor design sector and extending to materials and equipment sectors, are significant in supporting South Korea's efforts to secure next-generation semiconductor competitiveness and to advance as a comprehensive semiconductor powerhouse." He added, "We will expand the supply of venture capital with a long-term perspective to startups that will lead the future."
