According to the Mokpo Coast Guard Station on the 9th, at 12:02 PM on the 8th, a report was received that vessel A (1.81 tons, registered in Jindo, with 2 crew members), which was fishing about 500 meters east of Dokgeo Island in Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, suddenly lost its engine and was unable to navigate.
The Coast Guard dispatched patrol ships and a coastal rescue boat from the local police station to the scene, checked the safety status of the crew on vessel A, instructed all crew members to wear life jackets, and broadcasted navigation safety messages to nearby vessels.
Upon arrival at the scene, the Coast Guard quickly rescued the two crew members onto the coastal rescue boat from the police station and urgently towed vessel A to a safe area near Gulpo Port in Jindo-gun. Vessel A was towed to Gulpo Port by vessel B, a private ship arranged by the captain.
