Imsil-gun Accelerates Local Waterworks Modernization Project with 33 Billion KRW Investment
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is accelerating its large-scale project, the ‘Local Water Supply Modernization Project.’
The county announced on the 8th that the Local Water Supply Modernization Project, which is being promoted through a consignment agreement with the Korea Environment Corporation, is progressing smoothly starting with the block construction work.
This project is being carried out with a total investment of about 33 billion KRW, including 20.7 billion KRW in national and provincial funds, and has been conducting detailed design since 2019 to renovate aging water supply networks and establish a maintenance management system.
The county has been actively promoting the project since starting block construction work in December last year, aiming to achieve a water service rate of 85% through middle blocks such as Gwanchon Bangsuri and Osu-Jisa, which are part of the project sections.
Block construction is a project that separates management and operation systems on a certain scale to provide residents with cleaner and more stable tap water supply.
Although water outages are essential for project promotion, the county has agreed with the Environment Corporation to carry out water outage work during nighttime and early morning hours to minimize inconvenience and damage to residents.
However, in cases where water outages during daytime are unavoidable, the county plans to minimize residents’ inconvenience through extensive publicity such as distributing advance notices, hanging banners, sending text messages, and promoting via SNS.
In addition, to achieve the target water service rate of 85%, the project will be actively launched from the second half of the year, including leak detection, aging network repair, and maintenance management system establishment.
