On that day, more than 40 officials from public and private organizations including the Prosperity Association, Saemaeul Women's Association, Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit, and Volunteer Fire Brigade collected 1 ton of marine debris from the Madong Wharf area to save the sea, which has been deteriorating due to various pollutants.
Oh Seon-hee, head of Samhyang-eup, said, "We conduct cleanup activities every year to preserve the sea, which is the foundation of our lives, in a clean state," and added, "We will continue to do our best to create a pleasant marine environment."
