[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The friend A of university student Son Jeong-min (22), who was found dead in the Han River, revealed that over 800 emails requesting leniency have flooded in.
Jung Byung-won, the lead attorney at Law Firm One & Partners, said on the 8th, "As of 2:15 PM, 800 emails requesting leniency have arrived," adding, "There are also more than 50 leniency requests through personal emails and the law firm's KakaoTalk channel."
He continued, "Two YouTube operators also sent emails pleading for leniency," and "Among the two, one had a short posting time for their video and showed genuine remorse, so we agreed to settle without a settlement fee."
One & Partners announced that based on tens of thousands of materials collected through their own evidence gathering and tips on the 4th, they will sue YouTube operators, bloggers, cafe and community operators, post writers, and malicious commenters who spread unverified information about A or disclosed personal information. However, if they hope for leniency or not to be sued, they were asked to delete the problematic posts and then send an email to the law firm.
Earlier, One & Partners sued the YouTuber 'JikkkeumTV' at the Seoul Seocho Police Station, who claimed that lead attorney Jung is a sibling of an SBS reporter and that SBS's program 'Unanswered Questions' broadcast content favorable to A's side. They also sued the operator of the YouTube channel 'Jongi's TV' at Seocho Police Station for violations of the Information and Communications Network Act, the Telecommunications Business Act, and defamation. The operator of Jongi's TV is part of the management team of 'People Seeking the Truth of Banpo Hangang Park (Banjinsa),' which raised various suspicions related to this case.
