Over 150 Casualties in Pakistan Train Collision Accident
At Least 51 Dead... Cause of Accident Remains Unknown

According to foreign media on the 8th, the number of deaths and injuries from the accident has been counted as more than 51 and 100, respectively.
By the afternoon of the day of the accident, the number of deaths and injuries was understood to be around 35 and 64, respectively, but the number of casualties increased as on-site recovery efforts continued.
The authorities stated that the number of casualties could increase further as rescue operations proceed.
Earlier on the 7th, near Darkishi in the Ghotki district of Sindh province, two trains traveling in opposite directions collided.
The Millat Express train, traveling north from southern Karachi, derailed first and toppled onto the adjacent track, and then the Sir Syed Express train, heading from the north toward Karachi, crashed into it.

Military personnel were deployed at the accident site, and heavy equipment is clearing vehicle debris to conduct search operations. Helicopters have also been mobilized to assist with transporting the injured.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined, and the authorities plan to begin an investigation into the cause soon.
