CEO Taeho Lee: "PSMC's New Business is Developing 'Metaverse + Educational Content'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] “PSMC's new business will be the integration of metaverse and education.”
This is what Lee Taeho, CEO of 37dosi Edu and a candidate for the new board of directors of the KOSDAQ-listed company PSMC, conveyed. PSMC plans to hold an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on the 11th to appoint seven directors and auditors, including CEO Lee Taeho.
CEO Lee Taeho is a former famous math instructor and currently serves as the CEO of 37dosi Edu, while still actively working as a well-known instructor in areas such as Daechi-dong.
CEO Lee said, “The metaverse is currently evaluated as having infinite scalability and is attracting global attention,” adding, “Claire Kimber, director of Postercorp, described the metaverse as a universe composed of millions of digital galaxies. In other words, it is virtually an infinite space.”
He explained that the metaverse has already deeply entered our lives, such as buying land in Gangnam in virtual real estate games, purchasing luxury clothes for one’s avatar, and gathering in virtual spaces to enjoy spring festivals.
He pointed out, “Traditional face-to-face education has clearly revealed its limitations through the COVID-19 era,” and “the hastily started non-face-to-face education also shows its limitations, such as difficulty in monitoring individual behavior outside the screen, challenges in blocking external environments during online classes, and discomfort in interaction on 2D screens.”
Accordingly, he plans to introduce metaverse technology into education to utilize infinite space and resources and develop educational content that interacts with students at the level of face-to-face education. This content will provide vivid experiences even in virtual reality, leading to immersion and overcoming spatial and temporal constraints.
He explained, “In history classes, students will be able to experience vivid lessons in worlds that recreate the actual era, going beyond just watching video materials and memorizing,” and “in science classes, students will be able to see cells and other subjects, which were previously viewed only as 2D images, right in front of them during lessons.”
