Gangwon Fire Headquarters, Fire Special Inspection for Businesses 'Excluding Multi-Use Facilities'
Kids Cafes, Screen Baseball Arenas, Escape Room Cafes, Comic Cafes, and Rock Bowling Alleys
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Gangwon Provincial Fire Department conducted a special fire safety inspection on five types of businesses, including kids cafes, which are similar to multi-use facilities but are not classified as such and thus fall into a safety blind spot.
According to the provincial fire department on the 7th, over a period of ten days starting from the 17th of last month, inspections were carried out on 138 locations across five business types: kids cafes, screen baseball centers, escape room cafes, comic cafes, and rock bowling alleys. The investigation focused on the adequacy of fire safety facilities, recommendations for emergency exit installations, fire-retardant treatment of interior decorations, and the use of detailed inspection checklists.
In particular, education emphasizing "evacuate first in case of fire" to minimize casualties was provided. Violations such as sprinkler head water spray obstructions, battery defects in guidance systems, and omission of detector installations were identified. Corrective orders were issued, and fire safety education was conducted for 136 individuals.
