Naju City Operates 'Useful Microorganism Unmanned Supply Machine'
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 7th that it is operating an ‘Unmanned Useful Microorganism Supply Machine’ at the Agricultural Microorganism Cultivation Center of the Agricultural Technology Center as part of non-face-to-face agricultural administration services due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Useful microorganisms refer to numerous microorganisms existing in nature, including lactic acid bacteria, yeast, and Bacillus subtilis, which are beneficial to humans. Agricultural useful microorganisms help increase crop yield and quality and reduce livestock odor by suppressing the proliferation of harmful microorganisms and improving soil.
The Agricultural Technology Center produces and supplies four types of microorganisms?‘Bacillus subtilis’, ‘Lactic acid bacteria’, ‘Yeast’, and ‘Photosynthetic bacteria’?directly to farms.
The newly installed unmanned supply machine allows users to receive a precisely measured sealed product by selecting the purpose, type of microorganism, and quantity after simple identity verification such as date of birth and phone number, followed by card payment (300 KRW per liter).
The supply machine is also equipped with a staff call function for farmers who are not familiar with using the device.
