Kindergarten Teacher Who Put Foreign Objects in School Meals... Police Reapply for Arrest Warrant
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The police have re-applied for an arrest warrant for a kindergarten teacher suspected of putting foreign substances into meals at a kindergarten in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, after four months.
The Geumcheon Police Station in Seoul announced on the 7th that they would reapply for an arrest warrant against a woman in her 40s, identified as A, who is suspected of putting foreign substances into kindergarten students' meals (child abuse and attempted special injury), adding charges of property damage.
A police official explained, "We added the charge because the act of putting foreign substances into the meals of kindergarten students and the coffee of fellow teachers can also be considered property damage."
Earlier, the police had applied for an arrest warrant once in February but were instructed by the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office to conduct supplementary investigations.
According to the police, A is suspected of putting an unidentified liquid containing mosquito repellent and surfactant ingredients into the meal containers of students at a kindergarten in Geumcheon-gu last November. More than 10 children were affected.
It was also investigated that suspicious substances were put into the meals and coffee of fellow teachers.
