Gyeongnam Jeongbo University Sweeps Awards at Online Skin Beauty Competition... Wins Top Prize at 'CIDESCO' Contest and 99 Other Categories in a Row
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] At the largest-scale prestigious beauty competition held online in Korea, students from Gyeongnam Information University swept the awards in the most categories.
Gyeongnam Information University (President Chu Man-seok) announced that on May 27, its Beauty Department students majoring in Skin, Makeup, and Nail participated in 138 categories at the ‘2021 Korea CIDESCO Beauty Therapy Online Skills Competition’ hosted by the Korea Skin Beauty Association Central Committee and the Korean branch of the International CIDESCO.
Among these, they won awards in an impressive 99 categories, earning the highest total score award.
The top prize of the competition, the International CIDESCO Headquarters President Award, was won by sophomore Kwon Soo-yeon from the Beauty Department, and the Grand Prize, the Minister of Employment and Labor Award, was awarded to freshman Ha Joo-yeon.
Kwon Soo-yeon, who received the Headquarters President Award, said, “I was worried that starting university life during the COVID-19 period would reduce opportunities to experience large competitions, so I was glad that the beauty competition was held online. I am grateful to the professors who helped me realize that the joy of challenge is greater than fear.”
The Beauty Department’s Skin, Makeup, and Nail major at Gyeongnam Information University is the only international CIDESCO SCHOOL in the Busan area and operates an international curriculum.
Professor Kim Kyung-mi, who guided the students to achieve the highest total score this year, received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.
