[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Minister of Justice Park Beom-gye and Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo have entered into consultations regarding the personnel appointments of senior prosecutors.
On the 3rd, Minister Park and Prosecutor General Kim began discussing plans for senior prosecutor personnel appointments from 4 p.m. at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office meeting room in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. Lee Jung-soo, Director of the Prosecutor's Office at the Ministry of Justice, and Jo Jong-tae, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, also attended.
At the start of the consultation, Prosecutor General Kim said, "I will strongly discuss many matters with the Minister." Minister Park responded, "I will listen carefully to the Prosecutor General's remarks."
On this day, Prosecutor General Kim brought an envelope containing documents that appear to include specific opinions regarding the personnel plan. The day before, he had visited Minister Park to convey concerns and worries within the prosecution related to the organizational restructuring plan.
