Hampyeong County and Hampyeong Livestock Industry Cooperative Sign Investment Agreement
Construction of a 4.4 Billion KRW Factory in Myeongam Livestock Specialized Agro-Industrial Complex by 2022
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County has confirmed the attraction of the Hampyeong Livestock Cooperative food processing factory to the Myeongam Livestock Specialized Agricultural-Industrial Complex, which is being developed for the livestock industry and regional development using local livestock products. This is expected to accelerate the move-in of other companies wishing to settle in the complex.
On the 3rd, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 31st of last month, Hampyeong County jointly signed an investment agreement worth 4.4 billion KRW with the Hampyeong Livestock Cooperative and Jeollanam-do.
Earlier, on May 19th, the two organizations signed a contract for the sale of a 9,916㎡ factory site within the Myeongam Livestock Specialized Agricultural-Industrial Complex.
Under this agreement, the cooperative plans to build a food processing factory equipped with advanced facilities and eco-friendly features, covering approximately 600 pyeong, by 2022.
Once completed, the factory is expected to generate annual sales of 2 billion KRW through the production of ready meals such as Korean beef yukgaejang, seolleongtang, doganitang, sagolgomtang, and processed meat products.
The county is actively attracting investment in meat processing specialized food manufacturing businesses that can be linked to the high added value of Hampyeong Korean beef within the Myeongam Livestock Agricultural-Industrial Complex.

In particular, since the Myeongam Livestock Agricultural-Industrial Complex was designated as a Hampyeong Livestock Specialized Industry Investment Leading Zone last year, various regulatory exemptions, tax and levy reductions, and other benefits are provided. The complex is scheduled to be completed by 2022, including infrastructure such as a theme park and a food specialty street.
