Gimhae City Provides 483.47 Million KRW Support for Sustainable Eco-Friendly Beekeeping Industry Development

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 3rd that it will invest 483.47 million KRW to foster a sustainable eco-friendly beekeeping industry.
Considering the sharp decline in natural honey production last year due to abnormal weather, the city will intensively support beekeeping production equipment and bee disease prevention medicines with a budget increased by 233 million KRW from last year to protect and manage bees, which have public value.
In addition, according to the "Beekeeping Industry Act," beekeepers raising 30 or more bee colonies must complete beekeeping farm registration by the end of August this year, and the city plans to support various policies such as discovering projects necessary for beekeeping farm operations, including beekeeping production equipment, targeting registered farms.
Finally, besides the beekeeping industry structural improvement project, 12 other projects will be promoted, providing 93 million KRW for beehives and cold storage support, 155 million KRW for bee pollen support, 125 million KRW for beekeeping supplementary feed (sugar) support projects, and 66 million KRW for beekeeping medicines and infectious disease prevention.
