This plan was established to proactively prevent livestock disasters in anticipation that this summer's temperatures will be higher than average and the number of heatwave days is expected to increase.
The city will operate a livestock disaster prevention situation room until September 30 to protect the lives and property of livestock farmers and to minimize damage and respond to recovery in case of emergencies.
In addition, it will maintain an emergency duty system according to the risk level and prepare disaster response measures.
It will also promote management guidelines including inspecting risk factors mainly at vulnerable farms, managing livestock facilities and feeding, as well as strengthening quarantine and hygiene management.
In particular, it plans to establish a cooperative system with livestock cooperatives and livestock organizations and send disaster preparedness text messages in a timely manner so that livestock farmers can respond quickly to disasters.

A Sacheon City official said, “Since this year there is a high possibility of frequent scorching heatwaves and localized heavy rains during the summer, we ask livestock farmers to familiarize themselves with and comply with livestock disaster management measures in advance.”
