Sancheong Cultural Center Selected for Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Culture Day Contest Project
Operation of Local History Exploration and Experience Programs Until November
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Sancheong Cultural Center in Gyeongnam announced on the 2nd that it has been selected for the '2021 Cultural Day with Local Cultural Centers Contest Project' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Cultural Center Association.
The contest project titled "Our Neighborhood History Trip with Sancheong Cultural Center" will be held on the last Wednesday of each month from June to November.
The program is organized by changing the theme location for each session.
In June, there will be a historical trip 1 exploring the historical and cultural sites around Namsa Yedamchon; in August, a Korean traditional music trip centered on Gisan Gugakdang with experiences of gugak and traditional games; in October, a historical trip 2 with a tour around Jeokbyeoksan and appreciation of the Jeokbyeok Eumyeong Hanshijip; and in November, a cotton trip including a visit to the tomb of Mun Ikjeom and performances and experiences related to cotton.
Each monthly program will be operated in the form of exploration and education using historical and cultural arts content, as well as performance and experience programs.

Lee Hyo-geun, head of the Sancheong Cultural Center, said, "This project is a program linked to the 2017 original content support project, the publication of 'Sancheong Jeokbyeok Eumyeong Hanshijip,'" adding, "It can foster interest and local love for our hometown and instill pride and self-esteem as Sancheong residents."
