"Seeking Substrate, Materials, and Components Technical Talent Overseas"…KOTRA Hosts Overseas Recruitment Consultation Meeting
[Asia Economy Reporter Su-yeon Woo] KOTRA announced on the 2nd that it will hold an online 'Overseas Advanced Technology Personnel Recruitment Consultation' from July 12 to 16 to support the globalization of Korean companies in the materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang) sector.
KOTRA will identify overseas professionals that match each company's recruitment needs and arrange interviews with the companies. In April, a survey on overseas professional recruitment demand was conducted targeting companies in the SoBuJang sector, and this event was planned based on the results.
Among the 125 companies that responded to the survey, 41 companies (32.8%) indicated recruitment demand, citing reasons such as a shortage of suitable domestic personnel (57.8%) and the need for specific proprietary technologies (28.1%). According to the survey, Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies are unable to secure suitable personnel due to factors such as brand awareness, employee salaries, and location, and they hope to recruit overseas professionals to introduce advanced technologies.
This event will be conducted via video consultations in two sessions, considering the COVID-19 spread situation in each country. The first session will target North America and Europe, where COVID-19 recovery is rapid, in July, and the second session will target Japan, Southeast Asia, and other regions in September.
Kim Tae-ho, Head of KOTRA's SME and Mid-sized Enterprise Division, said, "This will be a great opportunity to attract overseas advanced technology personnel to strengthen the competitiveness of domestic SoBuJang companies."
