Seocho-gu Launches Mobile Large Waste Collection Service 'Ppaegi'
Introduction of Contactless Mobile Large Waste Disposal Service Suitable for the Untact Era... Apply for Collection and Make Payment via Mobile Without Attaching Permits
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (District Mayor Eunhee Jo) signed a business agreement on May 17 with the large waste easy payment service operator ‘Gatda Co., Ltd.’ to introduce the mobile large waste collection service ‘Bbaegi’ for the convenience of residents.
The mobile app ‘Bbaegi’ service allows users to apply for collection and make payment contactlessly in one go through the app without attaching a payment sticker when disposing of large waste.
Users can download the ‘Bbaegi’ app for free from the smartphone ‘Play Store (Android)’ or ‘App Store (iOS)’, enter the collection location, and upload a photo of the item to be disposed of. The object recognition AI function estimates the cost in advance, allowing payment. At the final step, a disposal number is generated and sent to the collection company, enabling easy disposal application without a separate sticker.
Additionally, the service offers ‘Naeryeodeurim’, a waste transport service for single-person households and the elderly who find it difficult to move large waste, and ‘Used Purchase’, a secondhand trading service for waste resource recycling.
It is also expected to greatly contribute to spreading a resource circulation culture through the ‘Dasi’ project, a representative upcycling business in line with the Green New Deal era (upcycling waste and donating to marginalized groups).
The district plans to complete system construction and promote the service to residents by the end of July and officially provide the service from August 1.
