Gwanak-gu, Recruiting 100 College Students for Summer Vacation Part-Time Jobs
Online Applications Accepted on Old Website from May 31, 9 AM to June 4, 6 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is recruiting 100 participants for the upcoming summer vacation 'University Student Part-time Job' program.
The district operates the university student part-time job program every year during the university vacation period to provide local university students with opportunities to experience administrative work, enhance their understanding of district administration, and help form a proper work ethic.
Eligibility requires applicants to be enrolled or on leave as of the application start date (May 31, 2021) at a domestic junior college or four-year university and have their resident registration in Gwanak-gu.
The total number of recruits is 100, of which 25 will be specially selected from recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, lower-income groups, persons with disabilities, and North Korean defectors.
Selected university students will work for 20 days from July 5 to 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (including break time), assisting with various administrative tasks such as civil service guidance and document organization.
Department assignments will reflect applicants' majors, preferred work locations, and the nature of the department's work as much as possible to help with social life, and working hours may be adjusted depending on the department's work characteristics.
University students wishing to participate can check the announcement on the Gwanak-gu website (Participation/Reservation → Participation Application → Administrative Reception) and submit their application online by 6 p.m. on June 4.
Participants will be randomly selected through a computerized lottery, and the final list of selected candidates will be posted on the district website's notice board by 5 p.m. on June 11.

Mayor Park Junhee said, “Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic this year, it has become difficult for university students to find part-time jobs, causing economic hardship. Therefore, we have significantly increased the number of jobs from 50 to 100. We hope this will be an enjoyable experience where students can earn tuition fees and gain experience in district administration while working part-time at public offices during the vacation period.”
