View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation will conduct the June mock test for the 2022 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) on the 3rd. Those in self-quarantine or exhibiting suspicious symptoms such as fever can take the test online.
On the 1st, the Institute announced that the mock test will be held from 8:40 AM on the 3rd at 2,062 high schools nationwide and 413 designated academies. A total of 482,899 examinees registered for the June mock test, of which 415,794 (86.1%) are current students and 67,105 (13.9%) are graduates or other examinees. The total number of applicants decreased by 387 compared to last year; current students decreased by 735, but graduates and others increased by 348.
The June mock test reflects the changes to this year’s CSAT, with Korean and Mathematics conducted as 'common + elective subjects.' The test booklet is provided as a combined booklet including both elective and common subjects, and examinees must find and answer their chosen elective subjects. For Social Studies and Science inquiry subjects, examinees can select up to two subjects from 17 available.
The answer sheets for Korean History and inquiry subjects are separated. After the Korean History test ends, the answer sheets are collected, and then a separate 15-minute distribution time is given for the inquiry subjects and answer sheets. Each inquiry subject has a 30-minute test time, and the test papers are collected within 2 minutes after the test ends. Those who do not take the Korean History test will have their entire score invalidated and will not receive a score report.
For the Vocational Inquiry area, examinees can select up to two subjects from six available. When selecting two subjects, the specialized common subject 'Successful Vocational Life' must be taken. When selecting one subject, examinees choose one from the five subjects excluding the specialized common subject.
Starting this year’s CSAT, the EBS linkage ratio is reduced from 70% to 50%, and all linked questions in the English section will be presented in an indirect linkage format.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, those in self-quarantine or exhibiting suspicious symptoms such as fever on the test day can take the test online. The online test website will operate until 9 PM on the 4th, and after entering and submitting answers, scores will be provided separately. However, these scores will not be reflected in the overall scores of all examinees.
The test schedule is as follows: ▲1st period Korean section (08:40?10:00) ▲2nd period Mathematics section (10:30?12:10) ▲3rd period English section (13:10?14:20) ▲4th period Korean History and Social Studies, Science, Vocational Inquiry sections (14:50?16:37) ▲5th period Second Foreign Language and Chinese Characters section (17:05?17:45).
Since scoring is done using an image scanner, examinees must use only computer-use sign pens when filling in answers. Using pencils, mechanical pencils, or leaving any marks such as preliminary markings with any writing instrument may result in multiple answers being detected. Such marks must be thoroughly erased with correction tape or similar.
Scores will be notified on June 30. Standard scores, percentiles, grades, and the number of examinees per section and subject will be indicated. For English, Korean History, Second Foreign Language, and Chinese Characters, only grades and the number of examinees will be shown. The period for objections to questions and answers is from June 3 to 6 PM on June 6. The final answer confirmation will be announced at 5 PM on June 14.
