Huh Chang-soo, Former Chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries, Sends Congratulatory Letter to New Chairman of the Korea Employers Federation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Huh Chang-soo, Chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI), sent a congratulatory letter to Tokura Masakazu, the newly appointed chairman of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), on the 1st.
In the letter, Chairman Huh emphasized that "Korea-Japan relations should inherit the spirit of peace and cooperation from the Kim Dae-jung-Obuchi joint declaration announced in 1998," and added, "Although Korea-Japan relations are currently more difficult than ever, just as the FKI and Keidanren have led Korea-Japan exchanges so far, I hope that the appointment of Chairman Tokura will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation between the two organizations."

He also added, "I hope that at the upcoming 'Korea-Japan Business Council' and 'Asia Business Summit (ABS)' scheduled in Seoul this November, the business communities of Korea and Japan can meet face-to-face and discuss ways for the joint prosperity of both countries and Asia."
