Lotte Chemical Donates 39 Tons of Rice to Vulnerable Groups in Songpa-gu
Rice Donation on May 28... Support for Elderly Living Alone, Disabled, and Single-Parent Families on June 2
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) announced on the 1st that Lotte Chemical, a representative company in the region, donated 39 tons of rice to help vulnerable groups.
The district held a rice donation event at the district office on the 28th of last month. At this event, Lotte Chemical donated 3,900 bags of 10kg rice for neighbors in need in the area. The donation amount is equivalent to 120 million KRW.
The donated rice will be delivered on June 2nd to 55 locations including elderly living alone, disabled persons, single-parent families residing in Songpa-gu, as well as Songpa Food Market, local children's centers, and welfare centers to support vulnerable groups who have become more difficult due to COVID-19.
Lotte Chemical has been conducting sharing projects focusing on the environment, people, and local communities, and has continued sponsorship for vulnerable groups in Songpa-gu since 2018. Over the past three years, they have sponsored a total of 3,200 boxes of seasonal supplies before summer and winter.
