"Son Jeong-min's Friend's Cell Phone Stored in Locker for a While"…Police Hypnotize Janitor for Investigation
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The police are investigating a sanitation worker who found the cellphone of A, a friend of university student Son Jeong-min (22), who went missing at Hangang Park and was later found dead.
The Seocho Police Station in Seoul stated on the 31st, "We are conducting a forensic hypnosis investigation on sanitation worker B to accurately determine the circumstances under which A's cellphone was obtained," adding, "We are also analyzing nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage."
The police plan to determine the timing and circumstances of the cellphone acquisition by synthesizing the results of the hypnosis investigation and testimonies. Additionally, digital forensic analysis is being conducted on both A's and B's cellphones, and bloodstain and DNA analysis on A's phone has been requested from the National Forensic Service.
It is known that B found the cellphone near Hangang Park, kept it in a personal locker in the office for a while, and submitted it to the police the day before.
The Seocho Police Station secured A's cellphone after receiving a report from an employee at the Banpo Information Center in Hangang Park stating, "A sanitation worker found and submitted it." The cellphone was confirmed to be functioning normally.
