According to the county on the 31st, since recruiting volunteers and operating a rural labor assistance referral desk from April, about 600 people from public institutions, social organizations, and students were connected with farms by the end of May to support the harvesting of onions and garlic.
In addition, county office officials have voluntarily visited farms with vulnerable labor forces, such as small-scale and elderly farmers, since mid-May to help harvest onions and garlic. Governor Kim San also visited a farm in Sinhak-ri, Muan-eup on the 31st and worked alongside public officials, sweating as they harvested onions.
The county has received great support from farmers by sharing difficulties with farms struggling from labor shortages, and plans to continue labor assistance efforts going forward.
