Kwon Eun-hee Proposes Resolution to Establish 'Post-Corona Special Committee' in the National Assembly

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Kwon Eun-hee, floor leader of the People’s Party, proposed the establishment of a 'Post-Corona Special Committee' within the National Assembly to devise strategies for overcoming the COVID-19 crisis.
On the 31st, Floor Leader Kwon announced through a press release that she had introduced a resolution to form the Post-Corona Special Committee. The committee will consist of 18 members, including the chairperson, with equal representation from both ruling and opposition parties. Its goal is to develop strategies over one year to overcome the COVID-19 crisis, implement sustainable livelihood measures, and prepare national strategies for future generations.
Floor Leader Kwon pointed out, "As expectations for overcoming COVID-19 rise with vaccine development and expanded vaccinations, the argument for proactively preparing for the post-corona era and establishing livelihood measures and national strategies for future generations has gained traction; however, the timing remains uncertain and there is a lack of space for such efforts."
She added, "It is necessary to establish a 'Post-Corona Special Committee' within the National Assembly to analyze changes caused by COVID-19 across major sectors, review and deliberate on the government’s post-corona measures, and propose necessary legislation, institutional improvements, and support plans for related policies."

The resolution was co-sponsored by Ha Tae-kyung, Lee Chae-ik, and Cho Myung-hee of the People Power Party; Nam In-soon of the Democratic Party; Cho Jeong-hoon, leader of the Transition Korea Party; Bae Jin-kyo, floor leader of the Justice Party; independent lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo; and Choi Yeon-sook and Lee Tae-gyu of the People’s Party.
