According to political circles on the 31st, Yoon met with Kwon and local figures he had known since working at the Gangneung branch office in the mid-1990s for dinner on the 29th in Gangneung.
Kwon Seong-dong’s office stated, "It is true that Kwon met with Yoon last weekend," adding, "Yoon contacted him a few days earlier to arrange the meeting."
Yoon (33rd Judicial Examination) is a junior prosecutor and childhood friend of Kwon (27th Judicial Examination). Yoon’s maternal family resides in Gangneung, which is Kwon’s electoral district. The meeting reportedly took place after Yoon visited his maternal relatives in Gangneung and paid respects at his maternal grandmother’s grave.
