BCG CEO Replaced After 9 Years... New Leader is a German Man in His 40s

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The CEO of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a global management consulting firm, is set to be replaced for the first time in nine years.
According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on the 27th (local time), BCG announced in a letter sent to partners that CEO Rich Lesser will step down this fall, and Christopher Schweitzer (48) will assume the CEO position starting October 1.
Schweitzer, the new CEO from Germany, graduated from the University of Texas Business School and joined the company in 1997. Since 2017, he has been responsible for Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East region based in Munich.
Lesser, a Harvard Business School graduate, has led the company since 2013, expanding its operations from 42 countries to 51 countries and nearly tripling its revenue.

Earlier, McKinsey & Company, considered one of the world's top three consulting firms along with BCG and Bain & Company, announced in March that it decided on the resignation of Kevin Sneader, who was seeking reappointment, and elected Bob Sternfels as the new chairman.
