Gyeongbuk Province and Uiseong County Hold On-Site Meeting of 'Local Extinction Response' Working Group
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gyeongbuk Province will hold a Working Group meeting, an advisory committee for responding to local extinction, at 11 a.m. on the 27th at the An-gye-myeon Office in Uiseong-gun, and visit the 'Iut-sachon Pilot Village' site.
The Working Group is an expert group consisting of 18 members from academia, research institutes, and other fields related to responding to local extinction since May last year. It operates in a free format without scenarios, formalities, or meeting materials, departing from the traditional committee meeting style.
In particular, this visit to Uiseong-gun is being promoted following the advisory committee members' request for a field visit during the Working Group meeting held in Seoul last March.
The 'Iut-sachon Pilot Village' is a key project promoted by Gyeongbuk Province and Uiseong-gun, now in its third year. As the number of smart farm young farmers and youth start-up stores increases, and POSCO modular housing, KT-AI School, and national/public daycare centers are being completed one after another, it is gaining attention as an alternative to overcome low birth rates, aging population, and local extinction.
Working Group members will tour major project sites of the 'Iut-sachon Pilot Village,' such as the Urban Youth Uiseong Living Experience site and the Young Farmers Smart Farm Training Center, and then hold discussions on seeking creative solutions and dissemination plans to overcome local extinction.
