Baek Nam-june's Artwork Listed for NFT Auction... Estimated Price Range 100 Million to 200 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] The work of video artist the late Nam June Paik has been put up for auction as an NFT (Non-Fungible Token).
Auction house Christie's announced on the 27th that Nam June Paik's video work 'Global Groove' has been submitted for an online auction. The estimated price is $100,000 to $200,000 (approximately 110 million to 220 million KRW). The auction will run until the 3rd of next month.
'Global Groove' is a work that was broadcast in 1974 on the American TV station WNET and was included as a video element in the installation piece 'TV Garden,' exhibited at Tate Modern, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Guggenheim Museum. The auction features a video NFT work repeating the opening 38 seconds of 'Global Groove.'
