View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seung-hyun Jeong] Mokpo City in Jeonnam announced on the 27th that it will operate heatwave prevention shade shelters at a total of 88 locations for four months until September 30th to prepare for the upcoming summer heatwave.
The city will install and operate shade shelters mainly at points with heavy foot traffic where pedestrians wait for signals, such as crosswalks at intersections and traffic islands, considering sidewalk widths to avoid inconvenience to pedestrians.
Additionally, a dedicated manager will be appointed to inspect the condition of the shade shelters weekly, and in case of weather anomalies such as typhoons and strong winds, safety measures will be taken by folding and securing the shelters.
