Gangbuk-gu, Free Legal Notary Consultation Office Operation
From June, Legal Advice on Family Relations, Real Estate Registration, etc. Available from Notaries... Conducted at District Office Civil Affairs Passport Division and 13 Community Centers in Gangbuk-gu... Use After Prior Reservation
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) will operate a free legal scrivener consultation office for residents starting in June.
The district has prepared this project to enable residents who cannot afford legal consultations due to cost burdens to receive advice on legal issues more easily at a nearby location.
Service users can have consultations with a legal scrivener on matters such as ▲family relations including birth and marriage ▲corporate legal affairs ▲real estate registration ▲execution and deposit ▲bankruptcy and rehabilitation ▲legal disputes ▲adult guardianship ▲death and inheritance.
Consultations will be held at the Civil Affairs and Passport Division of the district office and at 13 community service centers within Gangbuk-gu. The Civil Affairs and Passport Division will operate on the first and third Mondays of every month from 2 PM to 4 PM, and the 13 community service centers will hold sessions 1 to 2 times per month.
Those interested can make a prior reservation by phone at the Civil Affairs and Passport Division or the community service center they wish to visit before receiving consultation. The district plans to introduce the Seoul City internet reservation system in the future.
One-on-one face-to-face consultations with legal scriveners are the principle, but due to the spread of COVID-19, the district will temporarily operate telephone consultations in parallel.
Gangbuk-gu Mayor Park Gyeom-su said, “I hope that through this project, residents experiencing legal difficulties in daily life can receive help,” and added, “We will do our best to operate the free legal scrivener consultation office to protect residents’ rights.”
