Songpa-gu Opens Second COVID-19 Vaccination Center
From June 3, up to 650 vaccinations per day on the 1st floor of Songpa-gu Community Center... 'Mobile District Mayor's Office' set up at the center, with the mayor personally overseeing on-site
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will operate the second vaccination center starting June 3 to accelerate COVID-19 vaccinations for residents.
The second vaccination center will be set up on the first floor lobby of Yesong Art Museum at Songpa-gu Community Center (242 Baekjegobun-ro) with a total area of 838㎡.
With 4 doctors, 8 nurses, and 42 administrative support staff, the center plans to vaccinate up to 600-650 people per day.
Vaccination hours are from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM on weekdays and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturdays.
For residents with mobility difficulties, shuttle bus services and companion support services from the Care SOS Center will be provided.
The district plans to prioritize first-dose vaccinations for residents aged 75 and older living nearby through the second vaccination center, aiming to complete first doses for this group by June 12. Following the government’s plan, vaccinations will continue for essential workers under 30 years old.
Notably, during the operation period, a "Mobile Mayor’s Office" will be run at the second vaccination center. Mayor Park Seong-su of Songpa-gu will frequently visit and stay at the center to directly oversee vaccination progress on site.
Additionally, the district will listen to residents’ vaccination-related inconveniences and various opinions to reflect them in district administration.
Furthermore, since March 29, the district has operated a COVID-19 vaccination call center to assist with vaccination guidance. Twelve counseling specialists are assigned to provide information on eligibility, vaccination timing, reservation methods, and more from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays.
As of May 22, the vaccination rate for residents aged 75 and older and elderly facility residents and workers at the first vaccination center is 42%. Out of approximately 28,000 eligible people, about 12,000 have completed their first dose.
