Naver Opens Joint AI Research Center with Vietnam Friendship Telecommunications University
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Naver announced on the 27th that it has opened a dedicated research space called the ‘PTIT-NAVER AI Center’ in collaboration with the Vietnam's top higher education institution, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), to conduct industry-academia cooperation including AI research and development.
At the PTIT-NAVER joint AI Center, outstanding local talents from Vietnam and Naver researchers will carry out various industry-academia projects in fields such as deep learning, mapping, video, and speech recognition.
Naver supports various programs such as global training programs for local researchers according to the progress of industry-academia projects, special lectures by Naver engineers on-site, internships, and scholarships.
In addition, various campus events closely related to technology topics such as AI will be held regularly in the space. Both parties added that they expect the PTIT-NAVER AI Center to contribute to the long-term development and securing of outstanding local talents in Vietnam.
Vu Van San, President of PTIT, said, "The research activities conducted at PTIT and the AI technology exchange with Naver will further enhance PTIT’s competitiveness."
Park Dongjin, Head of Naver Vietnam and Co-Director of the joint AI Center, said, "We will expand our network with outstanding technical talents from around the world and grow together with them to become a leading global AI technology company."

Naver previously established a joint AI center with Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Vietnam in March.
