Gwangyang City to Implement Policy Transparency System
Selected 48 Priority Management Projects, Policy Details and Participants' Real Names Disclosed
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] On the 27th, Gwangyang City in Jeonnam announced that it will operate a policy real-name system to enhance the transparency and accountability of major policies and budget execution projects.
The policy real-name system is a system that records and manages the decision and execution status of the city's major policies and discloses them to citizens under real names to increase the transparency and trustworthiness of city administration.
The key management target projects include ▲projects with a total budget of 1 billion KRW or more ▲research services costing 100 million KRW or more ▲ordinance enactments related to many citizens ▲and other projects deemed necessary for focused management.
On the 24th, the city selected 48 projects as key management target projects through the policy real-name system review committee, including △installation of buffer retention facilities in Gwangyang National Industrial Complex △expansion of Gwangyang permanent market and creation of parking lots △construction of a comprehensive seafood distribution logistics center △intelligent transportation system (ITS) project management, among others.
The city will disclose the project details completed by May for each confirmed project on the city website (gwangyang.go.kr, Information Disclosure - Policy Real-Name System) and will also disclose the progress status regularly in the future.
In addition, the National Application Real-Name System, which was previously operated quarterly, will be expanded to year-round operation starting this year.
