Safe Gyeongnam Previewed Through Big Data Analysis of Firefighting Activities
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters announced on the 27th that it has established a Fire Big Data Division to provide residents with safety information based on data from fire activity cases over the past five years.
The provincial fire headquarters strengthened its capabilities in operating data-driven fire policies by establishing the Big Data Division through an organizational restructuring in July last year.
Key achievements include big data analysis of daily safety dispatches, analysis of site requirements for emergency vehicle priority signal systems, and analysis of the 119 dispatch process. Recently, they also created a Gyeongnam-type mountain safety map.
Starting from June this year, they will comprehensively analyze fire activities over the past five years and provide residents with monthly major incidents and safety vulnerability factors.
According to provincial dispatch statistics, June saw 237 fire incidents, which is 8 fewer than the monthly average of 245. This is analyzed to be due to the decrease in the use of heating appliances caused by warmer weather.
However, fires involving cooling devices such as fans and air conditioners are on the rise, with 6 incidents in June compared to 3 in the previous month, showing a 33% increase expected in July.
In June, rescue dispatches numbered 1,577, which is 27 more than the monthly average of 1,550, and emergency medical dispatches reached 11,023, 167 more than the monthly average of 10,856.
This is analyzed to be due to an increase in injuries (lacerations, abrasions) and heat-related damage patients resulting from outdoor activities as the season changes from spring to summer.
The most rapidly increasing dispatches in June were daily safety dispatches. Daily safety dispatches such as beehive removals increased by 37.6% from 256 in the previous month to 666. This is analyzed to be due to the overlap of bee activity and human outdoor activity ranges.
