This on-site inspection was a measure to prepare for the administrative audit to be conducted at the June regular meeting, aimed at checking the operational status of the marine debris collection and transportation vessel 'Araho,' which was launched in December last year, and to take steps in preparation for the summer season.
The city council members emphasized that maintaining a clean sea area through marine debris collection is an extremely important policy given that the sea is the livelihood of our city, inspected the operational status, and encouraged the staff of the related departments.
Kim Yong-an, Chairman of the Industry and Construction Committee, said, "The 'Araho,' the province's first dedicated marine debris collection and transportation vessel, will greatly contribute to marine environment preservation and improving the living conditions of island residents," adding, "We hope it will continue to do its best as a guardian of Tongyeong's clean sea."
