Huneed Signs KRW 7.9 Billion Supply Contract for 'Link-16 Interoperability Equipment' with Hanwha Systems
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Jeong-su] Hunid Technologies, a global defense and aerospace specialized company, announced on the 26th that it has signed a supply contract for 'Link-16 interworking equipment' with Hanwha Systems.
According to Hunid, the company will participate in the development project of the Korean Joint Tactical Data Link System (JTDLS) complete system promoted by Hanwha Systems, and will supply interworking equipment worth 7.6 billion KRW by 2024.
The JTDLS complete system development project aims to develop primary and auxiliary equipment for the existing Korean tactical data link (Link-K), perform integration among weapon systems, and build a complete system for the Link-K network.
'Link-16' is a digital tactical data link used by the U.S. military, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and others for joint and combined operations. The equipment supplied by Hunid is a core device that interworks the Korean Joint Tactical Data Link System with overseas tactical data link systems.
A Hunid official said, "We signed this supply contract based on the know-how accumulated over the past 10 years through data link system projects such as the Tactical Digital Information Link Interworking Control System (TADIL ICS) for airborne early warning and control aircraft, the Korean Interworking Control Center Remote Communication Station (KICC RCS), and the Ballistic Missile Operation Control Center (KTMO-CELL)."
He added, "We will continue to expand research and development (R&D) in the data link field to actively respond to the future battlefield environment centered on networks."
