Gyeongnam Province and Goseong County Join Hands to Revitalize the Drone Industry
Scheduled for Completion by the End of This Year and Full Operation Starting Next Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do signed an agreement on the 25th with Goseong-gun to establish an integrated unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) testing facility to revitalize the UAV industry.
At the signing ceremony, Park Jongwon, Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs of Gyeongnam Province, Baek Doohyun, Mayor of Goseong-gun, and the acting director of Gyeongnam Technopark, the entrusted operating institution, attended and signed a business agreement on the roles of each organization for operating the integrated UAV testing facility.
The establishment of the integrated UAV testing facility is a project that supports the development of the UAV industry in connection with government policies by verifying the performance of drone and UAV developed products and prototypes and supporting flight tests.
It will be built near the drone-exclusive flight test site in Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will provide UAV performance verification equipment.
The province and the county will build the integrated UAV testing center this year and begin full-scale operation from next year.

A provincial official stated, "We expect UAV technology development through the establishment of the integrated testing facility," and added, "We plan to continuously propose government support and measures to revitalize UAVs for fostering future growth industries."
